Pallet Stackers

Pallet Stackers Training Alberta - A pallet stacker is a kind of pallet jack that is utilized to transport, stack and lift palletized cargo that are too difficult for manual lifting. Its main function is to load and unload pallets on vehicles, and also transferring pallets to and from various places within a stockroom space or stockroom. For the most part pallet stackers are made of heavy duty materials to withstand extreme weights. Pallet stackers are sometimes identified as pallet jacks. They may be operated from a seated, upright or walk-behind position. Pallet jacks are separated into manual and powered varieties.

Some basic components comprise the pallet jack. There are forks that slide underneath a pallet, capable of transporting and lifting it to a preferred height. The engine section or casing houses the gas-run, electronic or hydraulic apparatus that powers the appliance.

Typically, pallet stackers come in walk-behind models that are hand-powered. This means that they are moved by pushing and pulling the jack into its preferred location, while lifting the heavy pallets can be operated hydraulically making this task much easier. Using a foot pedal or lever raises the stackerís forks. Squeezing a lever or trigger returns the forks to the ground. These models of pallet jacks are perfect for lighter loads of up to approximately 1 ton or 907.18 kg.

Most jacks can accommodate the raising of heavy weights to around 5 tons with either the gas or electric models. They are physically less demanding to operate than the manual versions due to the hydraulic power that hoists and lowers the forks. These styles are steered by rotating the handle in a particular direction. There is a button on the knob that functions to raise and lower the forks. A throttle found on the stackerís grips moves the machine forward and in reverse. This type of equipment is generally referred to as a forklift and is operated from a sit-down posture.

Picking the correct version of pallet jack may be quite critical as designs will have varying lift capabilities, together with varying fork widths. Some versions of stackers may only allow two pallets to be loaded at one time, whilst other versions may be proficient to stack many pallets. Certain versions of these lift trucks feature an changeable fork in order to allow the stacker to slide underneath pallets of unusual sizes and shapes. These models are effective when various kinds of pallets are used within a workspace.
